Fans of Harry Styles, 28, got a treat on Wednesday, thanks to the release of the first trailer for the singer's new film, My Policeman.
The 50s-set queer period drama is the Watermelon Sugar singer's first ever leading film role, with fans already predicting an Oscar buzz for Harry when the movie hits theatres in October this year.
My Policeman will see the former One Direction play a married policeman navigating a secret double life with a gay lover in Brighton throughout the 1950s - a time period where homosexuality was illegal.
In the first clip released of the upcoming film, viewers can see Harry's character, policeman Tom Burgess, kissing his wife, Marion Taylor, played by The Crown's Emma Corrin, while also stealing some secret moments with museum curator Patrick Hazlewood, played by David Dawson.
The opening scenes begins with Harry and David admiring a painting in a gallery, as Patrick asks Tom: "So, how does it make you feel?"
A montage then shares happy memories of Tom's wedding day to Marion, alongside a steamy moment where the policeman shares a kiss with Patrick in a dark corridor.
The upcoming romantic drama film, directed by Michael Grandage, aims to examine the struggles the LGBTQ community faces in Britain in the 1950s, when same-sex relationships were forbidden and illegal.
Towards the end of the debut trailer for the period drama, Tom's forbidden love affair is seemingly discovered - with wife Emma seen weeping as she tears papers apart, and the police officer's uniform set alight on a burning bonfire as he watches on.
Despite the preview being less than a minute long, the first My Policeman trailer has already sent fans of Harry wild online - with many even predicting the As It Was singer will clean up come awards season.
"I remain convinced harry styles was designed specifically for period dramas. that’s MY policeman," one fan captioned the steamy trailer on Twitter.
"and the oscar goes to.. harry styles for his performance in my policeman," another hopefully predicted, with a third picking out a scene between Harry and David, adding: "The angst, the agony, the internal disappointment. He deserves an Oscar for this scene alone!!!"
"Harry Styles in My Policeman deserves an Oscar and the movie isn't even out yet," was another excited fan's verdict on Twitter after watching the trailer - with hundreds more tweets of the same sentiment.
My Policeman, available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from November 4, 2022, will also see Tom, Marion and David's love triangle revisited 40 years on - with Linus Roache taking on the role of an older version of Harry's character.
Rupert Everett will appear on screen as the older version of Patrick, while Gina McKee will play Emma's character Marion in her later years.
Speaking last month, Harry teased fans about how much of him they will see in his first outing as a leading man.
"I wasn’t naked in Don’t Worry Darling. I was naked in My Policeman," the singer and actor confessed on The Howard Stern Show in May.
"There’s no peen in the final cut. There’s bum bum. I don’t think the peen was intended to be involved.
"The peen, it was pre-negotiated that that would remain my own."
Alongside My Policeman, Harry will also star in another blockbuster film set for release later this year, Don't Worry Darling.
Directed by Olivia Wilde - the singer's girlfriend - the psychological thriller sees Oscar-nominated Florence Pugh play a 1950s housewife - married to Harry's character - whose reality begins to crack, revealing a disturbing truth underneath.
As the first trailer for Don't Worry Darling was released last month, fans went wild for the saucy sex scenes teased between Harry and Florence's characters.
"#DontWorryDarling is gonna be so good just bc of harry styles and florence pugh. they are so hot," one excited fan mused online after the stormy preview dropped.
