Harry Styles’ merchandise van hijacked by gunmen as singer tours Brazil

Harry Styles gig workers had their van hijacked by gunmen in a terrifying incident as he tours Brazil.

The group were stopped in their vehicle by the thugs while driving the van south along the B-116 highway, from Sao Paulo to the city of Curitiba, on Friday. According to Brazilian news outlet G1, the group of armed gangsters stole merchandise from their vehicle.

Police say the driver of the van was ‘subdued’ by the three robbers, who are yet to be tracked down. The One Direction star, 28, performed in Sao Paulo earlier this week before performing in Rio De Janeiro on Thursday night.

It was initially reported the van was being driven by Styles' stage crew and contained instruments used by his supporting band, but police clarified to say that the truck was actually filled with merchandise and was not part of the touring party.

The robbers have not yet been found, nor has the missing van been recovered.

The Watermelon Sugar singer is due to play in the city of Curitiba on Saturday as he continues his tour. This comes after a fan invaded the stage, running towards Harry as he performed mid-concert, before being tackled by security.

The shaken star managed to continue performing his chart-topping 'What Makes You Beautiful' to the delighted crowd after the ordeal.

The As It Was singer dodged the intruder and joked afterwards to the crowd: "Well, that was different!"

Showing his appreciation for security, Harry pointed to a photo of the guard on stage and said: "Thank you, thank you. You saved me. I’m shooketh. I’m shooketh."
