Prince Harry's embarrassing Nazi uniform moment will reportedly be recreated in the next series of The Crown. The Sun says that Netflix will feature the “native and colonial” fancy dress party at which a 20-year-old Harry dressed as a member of Rommel’s Afrika Korps in its new series.
Harry was pictured with a swastika symbol on his arm. The Royal Family issued an apology at the time in 2005 but Harry only spoke of his Nazi “shame” three months ago during his and Meghan’s docuseries on Netflix.
The Sun claims the party, held by Olympic showjumper Richard Meade, and its fall-out will feature in series six of The Crown later this year. The paper reports an "insider" as calling it "one of the most shameful incidents in Harry’s life and one that he finally addressed in December.
“In more recent times, Harry has made claims about racism in the UK and unconscious bias in the Royal Family on Netflix. It is kind of ironic that Netflix is the one to bring up this incident.”
In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex claims that William and Kate “howled” with laughter when they saw his Nazi outfit. Last December, he and Meghan accepted a Ripple of Hope award in New York for their stance against racism.
Harry is played by Luther Ford in The Crown’s series six while Ed McVey is Wills. Netflix declined to comment to The Sun.
