Harry's book has different title in Spain that's even darker than 'confrontational' UK name

Prince Harry's memoir will have a different title in Spain, and it's even darker than the UK name which has already been labelled "yet another confrontational attack on the family after claiming a desire for privacy".

The first of the Duke of Sussex's three books, Spare is set to hit shelves around the world next year. Sources told the Mirror they were "flabbergasted" at the title, which is a nod to Harry's place below his older brother in the line of succession.

But if they thought that was bad, they will be interested to see the Spanish version. The title over there will be 'Spare: En La Sombra' which translates to 'Spare: In The Shadows'. The 416-page memoir is a provocative nod to the Duke of Sussex being a royal 'spare,' not the first in line to succession. Taken from the famous phrase 'heir and a spare’ casts focus on his relationship with his older brother Prince William, who is next in the line of succession, while Harry will never be King

The website 'princeharrymemoir.com' was registered on June 21 this year, according to whois.com, before being updated with details of how customers across the globe can purchase his book, which will be released on January 10.

The date the website was registered is just a few weeks after Harry and Meghan Markle were back in the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The Duke is donating some of the proceeds of his book to charity, the publishers announced.

A spokesman from Random House revealed: "The Duke of Sussex has donated $1,500,000 to Sentebale, an organisation he founded with Prince Seeiso in their mothers’ legacies, which supports vulnerable children and young people in Lesotho and Botswana affected by HIV/AIDS.

"Prince Harry will also donate to the non-profit organisation WellChild in the amount of £300,000.

"WellChild, which he has been Royal patron of for fifteen years, makes it possible for children and young people with complex health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible."

The highly-anticipated book will cost £28 for a hardback, with the audio download price at £20. The cover will feature a headshot photograph of Harry looking directly into the camera - reminiscent of his days in the Army as he sports a brown t-shirt and black string necklace.

Harry will read the unabridged audio edition of the book himself, to be released on the same date.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "SPARE takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror.

"As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be."

It has been described by publishers Random House as an account told with “raw, unflinching honesty" and filled with ”insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

In the press release, the publishers identified Prince Harry as "a husband, father, humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist.”
