Harry Redknapp believes Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi’s current form could see him called up to the England squad.
The 75-year-old named Guehi in his Premier League team of the week after a “fantastic” performance in the goalless draw against Liverpool on Saturday evening.
Guehi came agonisingly close to opening the scoring at Selhurst Park but his headed effort drifted just wide of Alisson Becker’s goal.

The Palace defender earned his England senior debut in March last year in a friendly against Switzerland and would add two more international caps in Nations League fixtures against Italy and Hungary last summer.
Disappointingly, the 22-year-old was not included in the Three Lions squad for the World Cup in Qatar but Redknapp believes that Guehi’s current form may catch the eye of England boss Gareth Southgate.
“Marc Guehi has been brilliant since signing for Palace and is developing into a top centre-half. He’s quick, strong and a real leader for this Palace side. Against Liverpool, I thought he was fantastic," Redknapp told BetVictor.
“He was first to everything and probably should have got his side a goal as well. If he keeps this up, he could play himself into Gareth Southgate’s side.”
Guehi was named in Redknapp’s Premier League team of the week alongside Junior Firpo of Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier and Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis in defence, with Aston Villa stopper Emi Martinez in goal.
Declan Rice of West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves, Villa’s Emi Buendia and Phil Foden of Man City were selected in midfield, with a front two of West Ham striker Danny Ings and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
