Harry Redknapp issues Nottingham Forest relegation verdict

Harry Redknapp believes that Nottingham Forest are in ‘big trouble’ in the race for Premier League safety at the end of the season, naming the Reds one of his three teams to go down.

Forest currently sit in the third relegation position, but are only off safety on goal difference. Steve Cooper ’s men fell to their third defeat in a row in the league on Sunday in a 2-0 loss vs Manchester United.

The result means that Forest have now also gone a total of 10 Premier League games without a win. It’s something that will have to change should the team wish to play in the same league next season.

However, Redknapp has named Forest in his three teams to go down at the end of the season, alongside Southampton and Leicester City. The pundit believes that the current bottom three will stay the same come the end of the season.

“I’ve got a feeling Nottingham Forest could be in it big time, they’re getting sucked in,” he told ITCIAD podcast.

He later added: “Steve Cooper did a great job last year getting them up, but I do think they’re in big trouble this year.”

Forest are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side did the Reds a favour on Monday night by coming out as 6-1 winners over Forest’s relegation rivals Leeds United.

The result means that Leeds stayed within two points of Forest in the Premier League table. As many as nine teams were involved in the race against relegation just a few weeks ago, but the likes of Crystal Palace, Wolves and Bournemouth have pulled away with wins over the last few games.
