Harry Redknapp says there's not many goalkeepers better than Newcastle United shot stopper Nick Pope. The former Spurs boss waxed lyrical after his brilliant save against Crystal Palace over a week ago. The former Portsmouth manager named the Magpies goalkeeper in his team-of-the-week last week and has lauded him as a brilliant signing.
Eddie Howe and Newcastle felt aggrieved to not come away with all three points after a dominant display on the road at Selhurst Park. The Toon limited the hosts to very little, but Pope had his wits about him, producing a brilliant save to deny Jean Philippe Mateta from close range.
The Magpies goalkeeper was at full stretch to tip the effort over the bar, ensuring Newcastle's incredible start to the season continues. The black and white faithful have seen their side lose just once in the Premier League this season, a late defeat to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool back in August.

Since then, Newcastle have been relentless in their pursuit of European football, boasting the best defence in the Premier League and are 90 minutes away from Wembley in the Carabao cup, with a slender first leg advantage over Southampton. The former Spurs boss says Pope has played a huge part in that impressive feat.
Speaking to BetVictor, Redknapp said: "First up this week, Nick Pope. He’s been a brilliant piece of business for Newcastle and a big part of the best defence in the country. That save in the second half was unbelievable! There’s not many better than him."
Pope can be considered one of the signings of the summer, arriving from relegated Burnley for a fee believed to be in the region of £10million. The Newcastle goalkeeper made it ten games without conceding after the 1-0 win at Southampton during the week.
