Harry Potter books may be adapted into online TV series

Here's some news for Harry Potter fans! Buzz is that after its movie adaptation which was a huge hit world over, JK Rowling's 'Harry Potter' books might soon be adapted into online TV series.

According to Bloomberg, 'Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. is close to a deal for a new online TV series based on Harry Potter'. David Zaslav- CEO of Warner Bros, and Casey Bloys- HBO chief, have tried to convince Rowling to produce a new TV series based on the books, however the deal isn't completed yet.

The Harry Potter series has seven books in it, which were earlier adapted into eight films (the last book being made into a two-part film) by Warner Bros. And now, Warner Bros' company HBO is keen on developing the books into TV series. It is said that every season of the TV series will be based on each of the seven books in the Harry Potter series. Meanwhile, Rowling will also be involved in the TV series to ensure it is close to her original content.

No official statements have been given by either Warner Bros or JK Rowling in this regard, yet.

Meanwhile, people have expressed their mixed-response to this news on social media. While some fans were elated with the new possibility, others weren't to happy since they felt the Harry Potter books and stories are still new to be adapted again for the small screen. In other news, JK Rowling shared in a tweet today that her seventh book in the Strike series titled 'The Running Grave', will be out later this year. It is noted that this series is written under her pen name Robert Galbraith.
