Harry Newman's appeal delayed as Leeds Rhinos made to wait on centre's availability

Harry Newman's appeal will now be heard on Wednesday, the Rugby Football League has confirmed. The Leeds Rhinos centre is challenging the charge for Grade C using 'threatening language or body language' towards a match official.

Newman had initially been banned for two games though that was subsequently increased to three games for what was deemed to be a frivolous appeal. Leeds have decided to use new evidence to appeal the ban once again but will now have to wait until Wednesday to make their case despite initial plans for it to take place today. The timing of tomorrow's hearing is to be confirmed.

He scored a fantastic solo try against the champions and will now hope to be available for selection this weekend as Leeds travel to France to take on Toulouse Olympique, who have won their last two games.
