Birmingham City showed late interest in signing Harry McKirdy - but Hibs managed to get the deal over the line.
It was a madcap day for the forward as his move to Easter Road was on, then off, then back in the works. He eventually signed a permanent deal with Lee Johnson's men and made his debut in a 1-0 Premiership victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday, Joe Newell's goal sealing three points.
It's reported by the Sun that Birmingham City would have been interested in allowing him to make the jump to England's second tier but their potential swoop didn't appear until it was too late. Instead McKirdy is now looking forward to life in the Scottish capital and Hibs assistant manager Jamie McCallister believes new boys like him and Momodou Bojang need time to adapt to Premiership tempo.

He said: "It definitely takes time to adapt to the intensity and physicality of the Scottish Premiership. Especially for strikers.
"When they get that first goal it builds confidence and they tend to go on a little hot streak. It's just getting that first one.
"Momodou had a great chance at the end where he could do better but we'll keep working on it. We're getting into good areas and creating, that's the main thing."
