Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has reportedly been left shaken by a terrifying bomb threat at his family mansion in Cheshire.
Cops are searching the defender's Alderley Edge property after he received an email claiming that a bomb would be planted at his home.
Maguire lives with his fiancee Fern Hawkins, who he has two daughters with. The 29-year-old is said to be in a state of "extreme shock", according to The Sun.
A spokesman for Maguire said: "In the last 24 hours, Harry has received a serious threat to his family home.
"He has reported this to the police who are now looking into the matter. The safety of his family and those around him is obviously Harry's number one priority.
"He will continue to prepare for this weekend’s fixture as normal and we will not be commenting in any further detail at this time."
Maguire played 90 minutes for United in the defeat to Liverpool earlier this week.
While representing England last month, the 29-year-old was subjected to boos after his performance against Ivory Coast.
While it's not uncommon for Manchester United players to receive threats, Police are taking this one extremely seriously.
The Daily Record has approached the club for comment.
Maguire's form has nosedived this season and he's faced heavy criticism from supporters, with many calling for him to be stripped of the captaincy.
Back in 2016, United captain Wayne Rooney was the chief target of Twitter trolls after the club's troubled start to the season.
One message posted at the time read: "Rooney, I hope your kids die."
Another user pleaded with their followers and fellow fans to target Rooney directly with hate messages.
