Harry Maguire has caused controversy amongst Manchester United fans today after having apparently 'liked' an Instagram post about Cristiano Ronaldo's wage reduction after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League. An Instagram post from Sportbible had mentioned that Ronaldo's salary reduction is a factor in his decision to want to move on from the club, with his salary reportedly going from £480,000-per-week to £360,000 with United having dropped out of the Champions League.
And it appears that Maguire's account was one of thousands to have liked the post, which has frustrated a number of United fans. The past season saw leaks emerging from the United dressing room about unrest between players, with the Manchester Evening News reporting of an incident which saw Ronaldo separate himself from the group after a loss to Brighton.
