Harry Maguire has warned Manchester United about facing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire already knows exactly what to expect from Harry Kane as Tottenham Hotspur head to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Both players have been in mixed form for their domestic teams since starring for England in their run to the Euro 2020 final last summer. Kane only scored four times in the Premier League before New Year's Day. Maguire meanwhile has been criticised by fans and pundits for his United displays of late.

Some were calling for the former Leicester City man to lose the captain's armband at Old Trafford, though but Ralf Rangnick was quick to play down such an idea. Kane, however, has managed to regain form in recent weeks — scoring five goals in his last four league appearances.

And speaking to United's official website last year Maguire outlined just what it's like to play against Kane. He said: "I want to play in the biggest games possible against the best players; that’s why I joined this club.

" Harry [Kane] is one of those. I know him from England really well. He’s a top striker, one of the best in the world and he does it season after season, scores goals after goals. He'll be ready for battle and I'll be ready for battle.

"May the best man win. It's not just individuals; it's a team effort.

"As a defensive unit we've got to be strong, go there and get a clean sheet and give the team the best opportunity to win the game."

A day later, United went on to beat Spurs 3-1 in an impressive victory behind closed doors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They will be hoping for a similar result and performance this weekend as they battle for the top four.
