Harry looked 'much more ill at ease' on UK return than 'regal' Meghan, says expert

Prince Harry looked “much more ill at ease” than Meghan Markle who seemed "regal and elegant” on their return to the UK, reportedly said a body language expert.

Meghan delivered her first speech in the UK since the Sussexes stepped down from their royal duties and told a summit for young leaders, in Manchester, that they were aiding "the positive and necessary" change in the world.

"It is very nice to be back in the UK," Meghan said in the keynote address to the One Young World summit.

The speech came a week after publication of an interview with The Cut magazine in which Meghan again voiced criticism of how she and Harry had been treated by the Royal Family, causing a stir.

And much of the attention has been on the Sussexes relationship with the rest of the Royal Family in their first visit since the Queen's Jubilee in June.

During the event in Manchester, body language expert Judi James said that Meghan appeared a lot more comfortable than Harry.

She said that Meghan appeared “regal and elegant” and performed a “small love letter to Prince Harry with her giggles, nose wrinkles and coy expressions” reported the Daily Mail.

While Harry looked “much more ill-at-ease on his return to the UK, responding by looking down and then upward with what looked like a sigh.”

She said: "From her stunning scarlet outfit to her giggles, long blinks and nose-wrinkles as she referenced him, Meghan’s performance tonight looked like a small love letter to Harry.

"She also looked quite regal, touching the proffered hand as she stepped from the car like a true and very elegant duchess."

Meghan told the audience: "You are the future, but I would like to add to that, that you are also the present. You are the ones driving the positive and necessary change needed across the globe now in this very moment."

She recounted her first experience at the summit in 2014 when she was invited to be a counsellor at One Young World.

"I'm thrilled that my husband is able to join me here this time," she said, drawing cheers from the audience. "To meet again here on UK soil with him by my side makes it all feel full circle."

Speaking to the Daily Star, Ms James also said: "Meghan's stunning red outfit announced the fact that it was her gig tonight and her elegance and confident body language was in contrast to Harry's more anxious-looking rituals. The couple arrived like rock stars and left receiving hugs and doing selfies."

It is widely reported that there are no plans for Harry to see Prince William during his trip, indicating that the siblings have not yet been able to patch up their differences. That is despite Harry and Meghan staying at their former home near Windsor Castle, only a stone's throw from the cottage to which William and his family moved last month.

After the event in Manchester, the couple are now due to attend an event in Germany on Tuesday to mark one year to go until the 2023 Invictus Games for injured veterans, and an awards ceremony for seriously ill children in London on Thursday.
