Harry Kane will leave Tottenham if Antonio Conte quits this summer, claims Jonathan Woodgate

Former Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate believes Harry Kane will leave the club this summer if Antonio Conte quits.

Conte, who was appointed by Spurs in November, has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, who are expected to sack ex-Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Woodgate, who spent three years at Tottenham from 2008 to 2011, believes it is vital his former employers hold onto the Italian, as he feels his future is directly linked to that of Kane.

England captain Kane was chased by Manchester City last summer, but ended up staying put after their high-profile pursuit failed.

The 28-year-old could be the subject of interest from top clubs again this summer and Woodgate believes Conte staying will convince Kane to do the same.

“I think if Conte leaves, Kane leaves,” said Woodgate, who was speaking to BritishGambler.co.uk. “He has two years left on his contract and Conte only has a year left and has been rumoured with other clubs.

“And I think Conte will go if they don’t get the top four. I know City look like they’ve completed the signing of [Erling] Haaland, but there will be someone out there who wants to take Harry Kane – he’s world-class.”
