Harry Kane told he only has two options this summer as Manchester United trophy claim made

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane could be "at peace" with staying at Spurs, but he claims the England captain needs to move to Manchester United if he wants to win trophies.

MEN Sport understands that Kane is on United's radar ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to add strength to their forward line. Cristiano Ronaldo's departure in November left a gap in the Reds' frontline options which has since been filled temporarily by Wout Weghorst.

On Sunday, Kane became Spurs' all-time leading goalscorer, surpassing Jimmy Greaves' record in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City. However, his future in north London remains up in the air with his contract expiring in 2024.

Wright believes Kane may now want to stay at Spurs but that recent contract talk could be a plea to other clubs to come in for him. He told Premier League Productions: "It’s going to be interesting to see what happens now.

"It seems to me like, in his mind, he is at peace at maybe staying at Tottenham. There is a lot to be read into the contract talk: ‘I am ready to sign for the rest of my career.'

"Or is that a call to other people by saying, ‘If you are going to come, then this is the time to come?’ This is why he is at a real crux position in his career now.

"The next deal is either go to Manchester United [or stay]. The mere fact that they have taken Weghorst on loan, I was watching the game the other day, I’m looking at it and thinking: ‘I can’t understand how that’s going to work.'

"Even with the link-up and attacking the box, I am not seeing it. There is a place there for someone like Kane. If he’s got serious intentions of trying to win something [it is] with Man United and the way they are playing now.

"I know they are coming, because they are coming. With Harry Kane, it speeds that up. If he went to Man United, he would definitely score 20 goals a season."
