Harry Kane tipped to follow Mauricio Pochettino to Manchester United this summer

Manchester United have been told appointing Mauricio Pochettino will spark a chain of events which also leads to them signing Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Speculation over the England captain was at fever pitch last summer as he was priced out of a high-profile and big-money transfer to United's neighbours Manchester City.

After that proposed switch fell through, Kane pledged his future to Tottenham.

They are braced for further interest in the three-time Golden Boot winner moving forward - while Kane underlined his quality during a match-winning display against City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

He scored twice in a 3-2 verdict that might have a major impact on the ongoing title and top-four battles.

Key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom, meanwhile, continue their search to find a permanent successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - with Paris Saint-Germain coach Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are two leading contenders in that regard.

Pochettino spent five years working with Kane during his spell at the Tottenham helm.

In tipping those two for a reunion, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney also suggested that Paul Pogba, who is out of contract at United this summer, could move to PSG amid further interest from Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Speaking via Mail Online, Deeney said: "Here's what I think will happen. Mauricio Pochettino will leave PSG and will go to Manchester United, as will Harry Kane. Zinedine Zidane will go to PSG, along with Paul Pogba. Kylian Mbappe will go to Real Madrid."
