Harry Kane is still holding out hope for a move to Manchester United.
The Tottenham striker was a prime target for the Red Devils at the start of the summer as Erik ten Hag continues to push to sign a new centre-forward, with United still yet to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and loanee Wout Weghorst's time at Old Trafford having come to an end.
With just one year remaining on his contract in North London, it was thought that a move for the England captain could be done this summer, with Spurs not being able to offer Kane European football next term.
However, United appeared to put an end to their interest after being put off by Daniel Levy’s demands and began looking at alternatives, including Atalanta starlet Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt’s French international Randal Kolo Muani.
However, Kane is not quite giving up on a switch to Old Trafford. With Real Madrid's interest having largely subsided following the signing of Jude Bellingham and plotting to snap up Kylian Mbappe on a free next summer - leading to the arrival on a one-year deal of Joselu - as first reported by Mail Online, the Tottenham striker still hopes that United resurrect their efforts to sign him.
But they face a tough time convincing Daniel Levy to sell his prized asset. The Tottenham chairman continues to want at least £100m for Kane, despite his contract situation.
He is also reluctant to sell Kane to a Premier League rival, particularly after rebuffing Manchester City ’s attempts to sign him two years ago. Chelsea have also emerged as contenders for Kane’s signature but Kane would not be willing to move across the capital, despite Mauricio Pochettino's arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the striker in the past. United are unwilling to be drawn into a drawn-out transfer stand-off, despite boss Ten Hag being a huge fan of the Tottenham frontman.
Speaking in April ahead of a clash with the North London side, the Dutchman said: “It is quite clear his impact on the game from Spurs.
“And we have a plan, of course, for that and in the home game we did very well. So, yeah, for tomorrow, we need a very good plan as well.
“You have to defend as a team and he is a clever player, so don't allow him to come in the situations where he can have a big impact on the game.”
Kane, 29, is fresh off the back of another eye-catching campaign. The England captain scored 30 Premier League goals this season, his joint-most prolific top-flight campaign.
He finished second behind only Man City star Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot. Kane also scored three goals during the latest round of internationals - taking his record to 56 goals in 83 outings for the Three Lions.
