Harry Kane spotted but Tottenham trio missing ahead of Norwich in Arsenal Champions League race

Antonio Conte's side face a crucial final game in their Premier League campaign, with a trip to Carrow Road on Sunday. With Norwich already relegated, on paper it would seem like an easy task for Tottenham to secure the point they need.

However the Canaries will want to end their season in the top flight on a win and Spurs could face some missing squad members. Ahead of the Lilywhites final home game of the season against Burnley, Conte revealed that Dejan Kulusevski, Pierluigi Gollini, Harry Winks and Hugo Lloris had all suffered with a stomach bug.

The skipper was the only one out of the four who started the game, which ended in a 1-0 victory. Ahead of Sunday's fixture, the Italian gave an update on the spreading sickness bug.

"If you remember the last game, we had three or four cases of stomach problems. In this week I have to be honest we had a couple of cases but we overcame the situation," Conte admitted, in his pre match press conference.

"Also members of the staff, one day they were not feeling so good. I don't know why, the last week but also this week we faced this situation.

"In this moment though this virus is the last of our problem. We are close to a big achievement and we are totally focused. The situation of the players is the same as the last game," the 52-year-old added.

Tottenham have been without Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga due to injury, with Cristian Romero joining the list last week. Ahead of the final league fixture of the season, football.london takes a look at what was spotted in Wednesday's training session, before the trip to Carrow Road.

Harry Kane spotted

Before Conte's press conference, rumours began circulating of the stomach bug spreading around the Tottenham camp. football.london reported that this wasn't understood to be the case and the Italian's comments to the media seem to indicate that a number have been affected, but it hasn't completely swamped the squad.

Kane was spotted in the training pictures and video that Spurs put out of a session ahead of the final clash. Rumours of the England captain's absence began circulating as he was due to attend a media event on Friday, but he pulled out as a precaution due to feeling unwell, although it isn't believed to be Covid related, or due to food poisoning.

Conte was asked on Friday if the striker would be playing in the trip to Carrow road. "Yes for sure, and because in the last game [vs Burnley] we had Deki Kulusevski and he didn't train on Saturday but was good to play. Harry doesn't want to miss this type of game," the Italian responded.

Therefore there is hope that the 28-year-old will be in the starting lineup against Norwich and can produce a strong performance to help his side get the point they need to finish in fourth.

Trio missing

The Spurs boss explained that "the situation of the players is the same as the last game" before revealing an update on the Argentine's injury. "Romero had a traumatic injury," Conte admitted.

"He is not available. We have the same players as the last game against Burnley. Not less, not more. We have to be ready to try and fight and get the result."

This is a boost for Tottenham ahead of Sunday's trip, however in the training video from Wednesday, there were a couple of other players absent. Rodrigo Bentancur played the full 90 minutes against Burnley but did seem to pick up a knock during the game and he was one of the players not spotted in the outdoor section of the training clip, although could be seen in the pictures of the indoor session.

Emerson Royal was the other player who couldn't be seen in the training clip. Conte explained that he had the same players available as he did for the Burnley game.

Therefore there is hope that the Brazilian will be available on Sunday, despite his apparent absence from training.

Hard at work

Those who were at training seemed to be in full concentration mode for the training session. Spurs may need just a point against Norwich but if they become complacent and don't go into the game fully focused, they could slip up.

Conte and his staff could be giving their usual instructions during training and working the players hard, both indoors and outside. A number of youngsters were also involved in the session, continuing to compete for their chance in the first team with the addition of Romaine Mundle, who isn't always involved.

There were still the usual smiles and laughs before training began, highlighting the high spirits the Tottenham side must be in, going into the final day of the 2021/22 campaign. However concentration was quickly turned to the session and working hard with vital preparations.

Whoever the Italian has available to him when the 4pm kick-off comes around, he will hope they can do enough to finish the season in a strong position. Securing that Champions League spot is so vital to show just how far Spurs have come this season and will be a major boost in the upcoming transfer window.
