Former Chelsea captain John Terry has claimed that Harry Kane must leave Tottenham while mocking his former rivals, claiming that he must join a "bigger and better club". It comes as the England international nears the end of his contract with the Lilywhites, which expires in 2024.
The 29-year-old has developed himself into one of the best strikers in the world, smashing records left and right on his way to stardom. While he still has some years to go before cementing himself at the top, the only thing missing so far is trophies from his cabinet.
It's a point brought up frequently, so that matched up with Chelsea's need for a striker has led to some calls for a move for Kane. "I would try to persuade Kane to come [to Chelsea]," Former player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told Grosvenor Casinos. "That would be a very controversial move, but surely he's going to want to win things.

"Surely he knows he's not going to win with Spurs. Surely, he's not enjoying the way he is playing at the moment and where he's playing. I know they're all doing the shift for the team, but the majority of the time, when they don't have the ball, he's 10 meters away from his own box."
While it would be a huge and perhaps unlikely move, a switch is one that Terry believes would be best for the striker's career, telling beIN Sports: "I think Harry Kane has got ambitions to go and win trophies – he’s clearly not going to do that at Tottenham is he? Let’s be honest. He’s not, clearly. Let’s be honest with ourselves.
"“He’s one of the best strikers in the world. He wants to win trophies. He wants to play for the best and biggest teams. Spurs are not that, Spurs are not going to give him what he wants. He wants to finish his career with some trophies."
While Chelsea may be unlikely to provide that this season, the club have always been able to challenge historically and could be building towards exactly that. With Kane in the frontline, the Blues could well reach the next level, but it may be an unlikely switch given his history with Spurs.
