England captain Harry Kane has heaped praise on AS Roma forward Tammy Abraham amid links with a move to Arsenal this summer. The Tottenham striker particularly pointed upon the former Chelsea man’s experience, despite his age, which is something that a young Gunners side may be able to draw upon.
That experience is especially apparent coming off the back of the previous campaign. Mikel Arteta enjoyed a successful season with his players but missed out on a top-four finish late on. Many points were made on a lack of squad depth, a goalscorer and experience within the side.
The summer transfer window offers the Spaniard an opportunity to address that. “We are going to have certain resources, not unlimited resources, some resources,” Arteta said when discussing the spending power his side will have.

A transfer priority for the manager is likely to be at striker, where the Gunners have a void to fill. Alexandre Lacazette has already confirmed his exit following the end of his contract, while the previous season lacked a consistent goal-scoring threat at centre-forward.
A number of players have been linked to fill the role, from Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Another who has been in the mix is Tammy Abraham, who scored 17 goals in 37 Serie A appearances.
In light of the recent rumours, Tottenham forward Kane has openly discussed his compatriot during the international break. “Tammy is a great player,” He said. “He had a fantastic season at club level and even though he’s still learning, he’s already got experience in the game.
“Every time he comes here [on international duty], he works hard, he trains hard, he wants to impress the manager, he wants to score goals.”
It remains to be seen whether Abraham will make the move to the Emirates, having previously stated his desire to return to the Premier League.
