Harry Kane is willing to see out the final year of his Tottenham contract and leave for free next summer.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a blockbuster move to Manchester United and Bayern Munich at the end of the season. Kane has once again been in impressive form this season despite Tottenham's struggles, netting 24 goals in the Premier League to pit him second in the scoring charts behind only Manchester City's Erling Haaland (33).
Kane has just over a year left to run on his current deal and could depart Tottenham this summer, particularly with qualification for next season's Champions League looking unlikely. Spurs are fifth, six points behind fourth-place Manchester United, but Erik ten Hag's men also have two games in hand.
However, according to the Telegraph, Kane could be willing to wait it out at Tottenham and remain with the club until the end of his contract in 2024 before jumping ship.
As Kane will turn 30 this summer, there may be some reluctance from interested parties to pay over the odds for Tottenham's all-time leading scorer. Spurs are set to demand around £100million as an up-front fee for Kane as Daniel Levy prepares to dig his heels in over a transfer.
But should Kane run down his contract for a further 12 months, then he will be available for leave for free. That could open up several other potential options given the price tag Tottenham have stuck on him this summer.
The lack of a transfer fee would also enable Kane to negotiate a more lucrative contract from interested clubs.

By contrast, Kane staying put could work out well for Tottenham, given he would have a year to work under a new manager. Levy is seeking to appoint a permanent successor to Antonio Conte at the end of the campaign with Julian Nagelsmann one of the favourites.
Appointing a manager of Nagelsmann's stature might convince Kane to commit his future to Spurs as he chases Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League record.
As well as United, Bayern and Real, Kane has also been tipped to make the switch across London to Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino poised to step into the hotseat at Stamford Bridge. Although the Blues will not be in next season's Champions League, working under Pochettino for a second time could tempt Kane, according to Harry Redknapp.
"It will be interesting if Pochettino goes to Chelsea," Redknapp told the Beyond The Pitch podcast. "That wouldn’t go down well with the Tottenham fans at all that's for sure.
"It's a great move for him and I think he's [Kane] building a house in that area. He's a family man and he'd be happier not moving to the north of England or wherever he'd have to go.
"I've personally got a feeling he'll stay and sign a new contract," Redknapp added. "I may be wrong but I think he could stay at Tottenham."
