Harry Kane bid prepared as Paris Saint-Germain open talks for Liverpool target

The summer transfer window is officially open for business - and a number of big-name players could be on the move.

Kylian Mbappe's future at Paris Saint-Germain is once again up in the air, reportedly placing Real Madrid on red alert. The superstar forward reportedly wants to leave the French champions this summer.

In the Premier League, Arsenal have the busiest of the other top six clubs and are closing in on a lucrative £105m deal for Declan Rice. Having already recruited Kai Havertz from Chelsea, the Gunners are acting with purpose during the transfer window as they look to mount another title challenge.

And below, we have taken a look at the latest news relating to Liverpool’s main competitors ahead of the new campaign.

Harry Kane

Bayern Munich are poised to make another bid for Harry Kane this week.

That’s according to Mail Online, who are reporting that the German giants made an opening worth £60m plus add-ons - just short of £70m - for the England international last week. Tottenham denied an opening offer had been received.

However, the Mail also reports that Bayern believe an offer of around £80m plus add-ons could get Daniel Levy talking. Former Bayern technical director Michael Reschke believes Kane must be the club's priority and told the publication: "Kane is one of the top three number nines in the world with Haaland and Mbappe.

"If he joins Bayern, he gives them a much greater chance of winning the Champions League. That is the reason Bayern are fighting for him. Bayern can't compete in bidding wars for the top players, but they are still alluring to some if they show conviction."

Gabri Veiga

Paris Saint-Germain are pushing to beat Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City to the signing of Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga.

The ECHO understands Liverpool are looking at Veiga this summer as they continue to rebuild their midfield department. Both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have already arrived at Anfield this summer.

However, the Guardian is now reporting that PSG are looking to strengthen in midfield and are intensifying their efforts to sign Veiga, who scored 11 goals and made four assists in 36 La Liga games last season. The report also claims that Chelsea have targeted Veiga as a replacement for Mason Mount, who is set to undergo a medical before joining Manchester United.

James Trafford

Burnley are in talks to sign James Trafford from Manchester City for an initial fee of £15 million, The Times is reporting.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and is currently playing for England at the Under-21 European Championship. According to The Times, an additional £4 million in add-ons is included in the deal.

Trafford, who conceded 34 goals in 45 matches for Bolton in Sky Bet League One last season, has made clear his intention to play regular first-team football at "the highest level possible".
