Harry claims 'lies' were told to protect Prince William in explosive new Harry & Meghan Netflix trailer

The trailer for the second part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's explosive Netflix documentary has been released, giving viewers a glimpse as to what they can expect from the new episodes the couple reveal further details on their exit from the royal family.

The first three episodes of Harry & Meghan sparked a huge reaction when they landed on the streaming platform last week, as the pair shared previously unknown details of their relationship both with each other and the royal family. One of the most controversial scenes was that of Meghan recalling her first meeting with the Queen, for which she was accused of 'mocking' the late monarch.

The new trailer, which was released on Monday, begins with Harry musing: "I wonder what would have happened to us, had we not got out when we did," referencing the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family and leave the country in early 2020. Meghan adds: "Our security was being pulled - everyone in the world knew where we were."

A clip then shows Harry on what appears to be the Prince on the flight out of the UK to Meghan's home of California, where the couple moved after departing their royal roles. With a broad smile, Harry says into the camera: "We are on the freedom flight".

The couple are then seen discussing what Harry refers to as "institutional gaslighting", as Meghan claims: "I wasn't being thrown to the wolves. I was being fed to the wolves."

In a cryptic remark about Prince William, Harry then says: "They were happy to lie to protect my brother. They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."

The trailer goes on to show a series of candid unseen snaps of the pair at home and on outings together, including with their two young children Archie and Lilibet. "I always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for," Harry says.

The second volume of the six-part documentary will be available to watch on Netflix from 15 December. A previous teaser for the final three episodes indicated that the second half of the series would focus on the couple's decision to quit their royal family working roles, with Meghan heard saying: "This is when a family and a family business are in direct conflict."
