Harry Brook backed to "change the game" in gushing Kevin Pietersen comparison

Harry Brook has earned plenty of plaudits for his stunning success against Pakistan, smashing three consecutive centuries to help England record a historic series win.

Brook has enjoyed a stunning start to his Test career and former England opener and coach David Lloyd believes the 23-year-old has the potential to 'change the game', while comparing him to Kevin Pietersen.

"What a jewel Harry Brook is," Lloyd said in his Daily Mail column. "This is a fantastic start to his Test career and he will be making teams around the world sit up and take notice.

"They will see he is ticking all the boxes. You look at temperament, character and appetite and his ability to play spin. They are all first-class.

"Opponents will be looking for any chink. The one unknown as yet is the fast short ball. You can bet Australia will be testing him out on that one next summer.

"The thing with this lad is that he's a force in every format. He has shown what he can do in white-ball cricket and now he is doing it in the Test game.

"Harry really does look like another Kevin Pietersen to me. KP changed the game and Brook has the potential to do the same."

Pietersen himself is a huge fan of Brook and said in September he believes he is "the future" for England. "I was talking about Harry Brook during The Hundred last year and I said that this guy can be very good for England in all formats," Pietersen wrote in his Betway column.

"He is the future, in my opinion. He's got all the shots and can play in so many different circumstances."
