Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly ready to move away from making documentaries about themselves and turn to romcoms.
The couple has a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix and at the end of last year released their controversial self-titled series about their time in the royal family.
In it, they levelled several accusations against the royals - with Harry claiming Prince William screamed and shouted at him during the so-called Sandringham summit.
They also fronted another Netflix series called Live To Lead, which examines influential leaders and how they've helped to change the world.
However, according to a source, the couple is ready to move away from making shows about themselves and now have "fun" TV series in the pipeline - although they won't be appearing in them so they can still pursue other projects.
The source told The Telegraph: "There will be more of a heavy focus on fictional, scripted content.
"It will be rom coms, feel good and light-hearted programmes."
Meghan has spoken out about her love of romcoms in the past, saying she's watched When Harry Met Sally "a million times" and is a big fan of Julia Roberts.
And she cryptically told Variety magazine last year when asked about the ideal project for Archewell: "People love love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment. And our definition of love is really expansive: Partner love, self-love, the love of community and family.
"We use that as the baseline of the kind of shows and documentaries we want out there."
It comes after a PR expert claimed Harry and Meghan's recent controversial Netflix docuseries may not have been "what they were hoping for".
Earlier this month it was revealed that two key players would be leaving Harry and Meghan's Archewell foundation.
They are Fara Taylor, who is head of the Archewell Productions marketing team, and internal content head Ben Browning. Both worked on the Netflix docuseries and neither is being replaced.
And according to US-based PR expert Brenner Thomas, this staff shake-up hints at how Harry and Meghan viewed the success of these projects.
He told the Sunday Times: "I think Harry and Meghan feel that the way they were portrayed is not what they were hoping for."
Meanwhile, the founder of PR firm The Lead PR added the royal couple should only have recounted their experiences in the UK once after previously giving their bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
He explained: "If you're someone privileged, as both of them are, you have to do it with a bit of a wink.
"The real issue is that Americans don’t like their royals acting like reality TV stars."
