Harry and Meghan want 'royal summit with full apology for hurt and damage they suffered' before attending King's coronation

Harry and Meghan are calling for a royal summit with key members of the Royal Family after the release of their Netflix show, a source claims. The Times says the Sussexes are thought to want the institution to take responsibility for the "hurt and damage" they have suffered.

The source told The Times that the couple want the meeting before attending King Charles' coronation in May. They are allegedly irate that the Palace worked tooth and nail for a meeting between Ngozi Fulani, the charity boss who said she was racially abused, and Lady Susan Hussey, a former lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth who was subsequently stripped of her role after the racism allegations were levelled at her.

The Sussexes feel that their treatment is also worthy of dialogue and an apology from the Palace, according to the insider. The couple made a number of allegations in the six-part Netflix series, which the Palace has so far refused to comment on.

The source said: "Nothing like that was ever done when Harry and Meghan raised various concerns — no meeting, formal apology or taking responsibility or accountability. That is hard to swallow — 100% yes they’d like to have a meeting.”

Among the many revelations from the series, including that Prince William "screamed at shouted at him" during a meeting, Harry said he would have "to make peace with the fact we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology".

Reports suggest both William and King Charles have agreed to remain silent on the series and to "stay united" as a family. As things stand, there are no plans to arrange a meeting with the couple.

A senior Palace source told The Times: “If they want to get in touch with the King, they know where he lives.” In addition, a royal courtier responding to the allegations made by Harry said: “That is Harry’s decision – he’s taking one decision, we’re taking another. We are deliberately keen to send a message by being voiceless. Our duty is to get on with the job. It isn’t to respond.”
