Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have indicated they won't overshadow the Jubilee as the Queen hopes for a trouble free weekend.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to the UK as a family for the first time in years next week, with Her Majesty to meet her 11-month-old great-grandaughter Lilibet for the first time.
Despite the Sussexes' habit of making surprise public and media appearances, the couple intend to limit themselves to pre-scheduled Jubilee events and will otherwise stay out of the spotlight, the Telegraph reports.
A source said the Sussexes are "intending to limit themselves to public engagements'" next weekend.
They have discussed logistical arrangements with the Palace, but otherwise royal aides are being kept at arms' length about their wider plans.
The Jubilee celebrates the Queen ruling for 70 years with a four day bank holiday weekend starting on June 2.
A source has said the 96-year-old monarch wants it to be "an occasion in which the country, including her own family, comes together", reports the DailyMail.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States. Their interview with Oprah caused much turmoil in the Royal Family widening the rift between Harry and William.
But it seems the brothers are taking long strides in repairing their relationship.
Above all the Queen wants the family to be united over the celebrations.
A royal source added: "Her Majesty believes it will send a strong message to the world, that despite the family’s trials and tribulations over the past few years, those at the very top are united in getting on with the job, sharing her sense of duty and dedication to serving the people of this country and the Commonwealth."
Harry and William are said to be making up, with William reportedly hoping to put past grievances behind them.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: "They’ve also had FaceTime calls with their children, which has allowed them to re-bond.
“William sees that Meghan is a good mother and loyal wife and he is genuinely pleased for his brother.
“It seems that the two of them have healed the rift and are very much back on their old buddy terms."
News of their healing relationship will be a relief to the Queen who will welcome Harry and Meghan with open arms next week.
