Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly refused an invitation from Prince Charles to stay with him at his Balmoral holiday home during their latest UK visit.
The relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the royal family has appeared fragile in recent years, since Harry and Meghan’s revelatory interview with Oprah Winfrey. As recently as Friday (September 2), a friend of Charles told The Daily Beast the Prince of Wales had “frozen out” the couple.
Despite this, Charles is said to have offered an olive branch to his son and daughter-in-law. Speaking to The Mirror, an insider said the Prince of Wales has invited the couple to stay in his Scottish holiday home on the Balmoral estate while they visit the UK this week.

The source said: “The Prince of Wales reiterated his invitation for Harry and Meghan, and the whole family if they wished, to come and stay with him this summer while he is at his home on the Balmoral estate."
The insider claims Harry, 37, and Meghan, 41, have refused the invitation, adding: “He thought it might be a good opportunity for everyone to take stock and relax, but the invitation was declined.”
The pair returned to the UK over the weekend for the first time since the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this year as part of trip to support “several charities close to their hearts.” They will be in Manchester on Monday for the One Young World summit before jetting off to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event.
It is understood the couple will be staying in Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage, a stone’s throw from Prince William and Kate Middleton's new home of Adelaide Cottage. It is said though that the two couples have "no plans" to meet, despite them being minutes apart.
