Harry and Meghan show united front as they appear in public after handing back Frogmore Cottage keys

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted putting on a united front as they emerged in public, after it was confirmed they have vacated their UK home.

The pair were spotted laughing and holding hands as they left an office block in California, near their home in Montecito, reports the Mirror.

There is no confirmed reason as to why the couple were visiting the office block in Santa Barbara - which is said to house various businesses, including a Pilates studio and a yoga organisation.

This sighting is the first time the pair have been spotted since it was confirmed last week that they had officially handed over the keys to their former UK Home, the Frogmore Cottage.

The cottage, which is situated on the Windsor estate, was the couple's formal home in the UK, but they were asked to leave by the Royal Family earlier in 2023.

In pictures of the couple published by MailOnline, Harry and Meghan can be seen leaving the office and walking to their car.

Meghan was looking stunning in a white shirt, dark brown shorts and flat Hermes sandals - completing her look with a huge straw hat and large sunglasses.

Harry was also dressed in casual wear, with a polo shirt, dark blue jeans, trainers and a baseball cap.

News the Sussexes had finally left Frogmore Cottage was confirmed last week by Buckingham Palace.

The pair were asked to remove any of their remaining possessions from the Frogmore Cottage - just weeks after the Royal Family was slammed by Harry in his memoir, Spare.

The home, which was refurbished by the couple, is a Crown Estate property and was the pair's last remaining foothold in Britain.

At the annual Sovereign Grant account briefing on royal finances, Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, said: "We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage.

"We will not be going into any detail on those arrangements here.

"Safe to say that, as has previously been stated, the duke and duchess have paid for the expenditure incurred by the Sovereign Grant in relation to the renovation of Frogmore Cottage, thus leaving the Crown with a greatly enhanced asset."

In 2020, Harry and Meghan moved to the States after stepping down as working royals.

Frogmore Cottage, a Grade-II listed building, was gifted to the couple by Harry's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

In 2019, royal accounts showed that the pair paid £2.4 million to cover a refurbishment and rental of the cottage on the Home Park Estate - which they have scarcely used since relocating to the States.

A palace official said there was nothing to add in relation to who would live in the cottage in the future.

The official said: "I have nothing to add. Any future occupancy will be determined and communicated in next year's report."

The Palace refused to be drawn on whether the King's disgraced brother the Duke of York, would be leaving his Royal Lodge home in Windsor Great Park.

It has been reported that Andrew had been offered Frogmore Cottage instead.
