Harry and Meghan saw 'no real breakthrough' in secret meeting with Prince Charles

A royal commentator has claimed Prince Harry and Meghan were left disappointed after there were no "touchy-feely vibes" coming from Prince Charles at an alleged secret meeting. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly attended the "perfunctory meeting" during the Platinum Jubilee weekend.

According to American-British journalist Christopher Anderson, the couple are claimed to have been hoping for better relations. But he explained to Royally US, that there were no "touchy-feely vibes" coming from the Prince of Wales.

Mr Anderson claims it was clear after the meeting that the "curtain has come down" on the possibility of peace between the father and son. Mr Anderson also added that Charles’ late ex-wife and Harry's late mother Diana would be "heartbroken" by the state of relations between the pair and brother Prince William, Express reports.

Royally US podcast host Christine Ross said there were "some reports that Meghan and Harry were seen leaving Charles’ home", before asking: "Is there any truth to that? Do we know what they talked about? And did it maybe move us towards healing any of these rifts?"

Mr Anderson replied: "Well, I understand that it was a perfunctory meeting and that there was no real breakthrough. And I have a feeling that Prince Harry definitely went there hoping for some sort of rapprochement but there were no touchy-feely vibes coming back in his direction.

"So, I think the curtain has come down. And one of the things I think is so sad about this is Diana, were she alive today, would be heartbroken by this. She would have understood why Harry would have wanted to make his own life and wanted to go to California.

"But she always saw Harry as, you know, as Williams’ wingman. She always said 'My boys are my revenge'. And what she meant by that was that as a team they would go on and carry the monarchy forward into a more modern era. But now it just looks like it’s going to be William and Kate, and their kids."

A friend of Prince William has also claimed the future monarch is deeply upset by the fall out with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The source told The Times: "He’s still deeply upset about it and feels let down, but he’s moved on."

It comes after the brothers were not picture together during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month. Some royal experts believe the feud between the siblings is ongoing, The Mirror reports.
