Harry and Meghan's engagement and first messages they sent to each other

Harry and Meghan met on Instagram and just a year later announced their engagement in 2017.

The first three episodes of their tell-all docuseries landed on Netflix this morning. Simply titled Harry and Meghan, the show goes into the depths of their media scrutiny, relationship with the royals, and touches on the late Princess of Wales, Diana.

During some lighter moments in the series, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discuss their relationship and how they first met. Revealing it was through Instagram after a friend introduced the pairs profiles to one another, the Duke of Sussex was smitten after seeing her pose with a dog filter.

Recalling their first connection during the show, Meghan said: "That's the thing. People say 'did you Google him?' No. That's your homework... you're like 'let me see what they're about in their feed', not what someone else says about them, but what they are putting out about themselves.

"That, to me, was the best barometer. So I went through and it was just like beautiful photography and all these environmental shots and this time he was spending in Africa." Harry said they then got each other's numbers, adding: "We were just constantly in touch."

The episode also shares the first messages between Harry and Meghan ahead of their first date. The Duke said: "So come on - what u doing tomorrow night? Hope you're Having fun over there!"

Meghan added: "Heading back to soho. I have a dinner tomorrow at 8 but can do drinks tomorrow night. Would that work? Maybe 6?" Harry said: "You're ON!"

After first meeting in 2016, the couple were engaged just over a year later. On Monday, November 27 2017 the then Prince of Wales, Charles, announced the engagement of his son Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle, Wales Online reported.

A little more than six months later, Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St George's Chapel, Windsor on Saturday, May 19 2018. Prince William was best man and King Charles walked the bride down the aisle. Famous guests like Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, George and Amal Clooney sat side-by-side with royals.
