Harry and Meghan issue statement on South Park branding claims 'baseless and boring'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have issued a statement after they were mocked in a recent episode of South Park, with a spokesperson saying it's "baseless and boring".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were depicted as the “Prince and Princess of Canada” on a “worldwide privacy tour” during a recent episode of the US cartoon.

The skit references claims that the Sussexes wanted more privacy whilst doing a number of high profile interviews, writes The Mirror.

Following the episode, it was claimed that the couple were considering taking legal action however, their spokesperson reportedly said “this is baseless and boring” in a statement given to Newsweek.

The show is known for mocking countless celebrities, politicians and famous people for criticism, but claims say that Meghan was upset by the skit.

Harry and Meghan were said to be considering to "call in the lawyers", one expert said.

Neil Sean claimed: "According to sources close to the ex-royals, it appears that, like so many things with Meghan and Harry, this may have legal ramifications attached.

Fans took to social media to comment on the episode (Comedy Central)

"Their legal team are casting an eye over the episode to see what is wrong, and what could be turned into something more sinister."

But Mr Sean's claims have been conclusively rubbished by the new statement from the Sussex's which slammed his wild speculations as "baseless".
