Harry and Meghan airs on Netflix with an explosive start

The much anticipated Netflix docuseries was released this morning at 8am, and already everyone is talking about 'Harry & Meghan'.

It was so popular that fans fumed that the video-streaming site had crashed as many were keen to get right on the first instalment of the series which had promised emotional reality TV-style confessionals, unseen photos and a behind-the-scenes look at the couple's private lives.

In the opening of the first three episodes of the six-part bombshell show, a statement was shown, reading: "This is a first-hand account of Harry & Meghan's story, told with never before seen personal archive.

"All interviews were completed by August 2022. Members of the royal family declined to comment on the content within this series."

The statement implies that all filming of the show was concluded before the Queen sadly passed away on September 8, 2022.

Shortly into the first episode, Harry and Meghan opened up about their first date. Meghan said: "You were late. But he kept texting 'I'm in traffic, I'm so sorry'."

Harry responds: "I was panicking, freaking out, I was sweating."

Meghan continues: "I didn't know him and was like 'oh is this what he does. Got it. This I'm not doing.'"

After Harry jokingly asks: "What's that supposed to mean?", she says: "Like one of the guys who who has so much of an ego that any girl would sit around and wait half an hour for you. I was just not interested in that."

And fans flocked to Twitter to talk about the series.

One wrote: "Couldn't care either way, but here for all the drama of #HarryandMeghanonNetflix that we will inevitably see on social media today."

Another added: "#HarryandMeghanonNetflix is so good already."

While one wrote: "OMG I am getting my love story.. first date.. just chills and tears of joy for them!!"

Prior to the Netflix release, the couple have been accused of betraying the late Queen's trust.

Royal sources reportedly believe the couple have not honoured an agreement made with the monarch at Sandringham back in January 2020, which was reached shortly before they moved to the United States.

Following the meeting, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pledged that “everything they do" would "continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty”.

A Palace statement released on behalf of the late Queen at the time also read: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
