These harrowing images show the shocking aftermath of a balcony fire in Dublin.
Firefighters were alerted to flames rising from a top-floor apartment in the southside. The balcony that went up in flames was located on the seventh floor of the building.
Emergency services used the building's dry riser system to prevent the fire from spreading into the building. Additionally, they used a smoke curtain to protect the stairwell for escape.

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Donnybrook, Dun Laoghaire and Rathfarnham fought a 7th floor balcony fire earlier today. Using the building's dry riser system, firefighters prevented the fire from spreading in to the building and a smoke curtain was used to protect the stairwell for escape."

Firefighters were also at the scene of a vegetation fire next to the Saggart Luas stop earlier today. There were disruptions to services as their hoses crossed the tracks.
The brave crew managed to stop the fire from spreading to a nearby substation.
