The latest national polling data reveals that Vice President Kamala Harris is currently leading former President Donald Trump among likely voters. According to the poll, 49% of likely voters support Harris, while 46% support Trump. These numbers are consistent with a previous poll that showed Harris at 51% and Trump at 47%.
Despite Harris holding a slight lead, likely voters express widespread dissatisfaction with their choices for president this year. Sixty percent of respondents indicate that they are at least somewhat dissatisfied with both Harris and Trump as the major-party candidates. Additionally, a significant majority, 74%, believe that the country is currently on the wrong track.
Perceptions of how each candidate would bring about change vary among likely voters. While 51% believe that Trump would 'shake things up in a bad way' if elected, only 31% hold the same view about Harris. However, more respondents view Trump's potential impact as positive, with 45% believing he would shake things up in a good way, compared to 35% for Harris. A notable 34% of likely voters think Harris would maintain the status quo, while only 4% believe the same about Trump.
Regarding campaign outreach, a higher percentage of likely voters report being contacted by Harris' campaign compared to Trump's. Nationally, 45% say they have been contacted by Harris, while 40% report being contacted by Trump. In the seven key battleground states, 67% of likely voters have heard from Harris' campaign, while 60% have been contacted by Trump's team.
When considering the latest poll results, the average of recent high-quality national polling data shows that 48% of likely voters nationwide support Harris, while 47% back Trump. These figures remain unchanged from the previous average.
