Harris Campaign Chair Calls For Action After Election Loss

Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon urged her team to begin the crucial work of safeguarding America from the repercussions of a Trump Presidency in a message to staffers on Wednesday. This call to action came after Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President-elect Donald Trump.

In an email obtained by a source, O’Malley Dillon acknowledged the pain of defeat, stating, “Losing is unfathomably painful. It is hard. This will take a long time to process. But the work of protecting America from the impacts of a Trump Presidency starts now.” She emphasized that the Vice President remains committed to the fight and called on her team to view this as a new beginning.

O’Malley Dillon acknowledges the pain of defeat but stresses the need to start safeguarding America.

O’Malley Dillon, who successfully managed President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, highlighted the stark difference in approach between Harris and Trump during the transition period. She noted that Harris assured Trump of a peaceful transfer of power, contrasting it with the events of 2020.

Expressing gratitude to the team for their efforts, O’Malley Dillon analyzed the election results, pointing out that while the country as a whole shifted to the right, the battleground states showed the least movement towards Trump. She credited the team for their work in these competitive areas but acknowledged the challenge they ultimately couldn't overcome.

Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are scheduled to address staff in a call following her speech at Howard University on Wednesday afternoon.
