Happy Valley viewers turn away and slam final as 'too much'

Happy Valley viewers were forced to look away after a shocking blood bath murder scene.

The explosive series final saw evil Tommy Lee Royce go on a murder spree after Darius sent his goons to retrieve him. He was combative about being placed in the trunk of a car, stating he had claustrophobia but used the excuse to sit in the back seat in the company of everyone else.

Whilst he played his cool, everyone's defences were up. As they drove through the countryside, Tommy punctured a goon's stomach several times with a knife, forcing the car to swerve off the road.

With one person taken care of, Tommy strangled the front passenger with his seat belt before slashing his throat and making his way to the driver who received a similarly gruesome fate. The car was eventually stopped from crashing but the interior was doused with blood, running down the windows and the psychopath's face.

The sudden and shocking scenes were too much for some viewers which resulted in many fans looking away from the show. One viewer said: "I feel physically sick watching this?"

Another added: "Woah, that scene was a bit of a difficult watch... We were watching it through out fingers." Whilst a third said: "Christ alive, the art department really said “let’s give them all the fake blood we have left.""

A fourth said: "I really don’t know if I can watch this." A fan disturbed fan added: "Nah, this is too much for me #HappyValley."

Tommy left the bloody wreck and made his way across the village to find Catherine to finally have their highly anticipated confrontation that brought the show to its conclusion.
