Many Happy Valley viewers are left worrying for Catherine Cawood and what the future might hold for her, after a plot twist right at the end of Sunday's episode.
There was both excitement and trepidation when the hit Sally Wainwright drama return to the BBC on New Year's Day. Fans were overjoyed at the fact Happy Valley was back on screen after nearly seven years away, but also gutted that it ad already been confirmed that the show's third series would also be its last.
The action went up a few notches in episode three when Catherine, once again played tremendously by Sarah Lancashire, was left reeling by the betrayal of her sister Clare and her boyfriend Neil, who had been taking Catherine's grandson Ryan to see his dad, Tommy Lee Royce, in prison.
Ryan was the child Catherine's daughter Becky gave birth to after being raped by Tommy, with Becky then killing herself.

Having also nearly been killed by Tommy herself after a violent attack in series one, Catherine has been desperate to keep Ryan apart from him, but her suspicions about him skipping school to see Tommy in court proved to be correct.
And Ryan could only sit and watch as Tommy managed to escape the dock and make a break for freedom, after security were distracted by a fight that kicked off in the corridor. After lashing out at people who tried to stand in his way and running into a corner shop to get into a disguise, Tommy evaded capture and was seen cycling off unnoticed right as credits rolled.
Viewers had been hoping that there would be some sort of final stand-off between Catherine and Tommy and, with just two episodes to go, it looks like they'll get their wish.
However, some fans are now worried that Tommy will get the ultimate revenge on the fearless cop by killing her. In the aftermath of Sunday's gripping episode, one viewer tweeted: "Catherine will end up injured/dead cos she goes after Ryan and Tommy and Tommy naturally fights back," with a second reacting: "Sadly I think she's going to die protecting Ryan but will kill Tommy in the process."
Others are convinced it will be Tommy who meets his maker, with another avid viewer posting: I’m calling it: I think Tommy attempts to kill Catherine, but Ryan somehow kills him, whilst saving her" and a fourth commenting: "It'll be Tommy. Ms Wainwright would not let the country suffer the killing of Catherine."
