A photo of Sarah Lancashire in character on Happy Valley has caused great excitement as the BBC shared an update on the new series, which left viewers wanting definitive answers.
It's been eight years since the drama, with ex Coronation Street star Sarah leading the cast, made its debut on BBC1, becoming an instant hit with viewers who were hooked from the get-go. The first series saw Sarah's character, police sergeant Catherine Cawood.in some highly dangerous situations, including coming close to dying as she was horrifically beaten up death by Tommy Lee Royce, the man who raped and impregnated her daughter Becky before she committed suicide.
Another harrowing scene in the first series was the death of Catherine's colleague Kirsten, who tragically whispered I think they've killed me" into her police radio as Tommy drove over her body to make sure he'd finished the job.

After being a massive ratings winner for the BBC, a second series of Happy Valley was a no brainer and saw Catherine and her family targeted by a woman who'd become obsessed with Tommy and tried to turn Becky's son Ryan against his loved ones.
The second run of Happy Valley regularly pulled in viewing figures in the region of 10 million and has since gone onto be a binge watch it on both BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
There was great excitement earlier tis year when it was revealed that Happy Valley would be back for a new series and a post that has been widely circulated on Twitter, has hinted that it could be on screen in the vey near future.
The tweet, showing Sarah in the police uniform of her on screen alias, read: " #HappyValley Series 3 is getting closer… keep your eyes peeled." At the time of writing, the post had been favourited over 1,000 times and gathered plenty of comments.
Desperate to know when exactly it will be back, one tweeted: "But when? Tomorrow? The day after tomorrow? Next Sunday? Please!!"
Equally keen to see more and speculating when Happy Valley will be back another responded: "It will likely be THE big autumn drama once the nights get darker."
