Happy Valley fans are all saying the same thing about what will happen to Tommy Lee Royce

As ever, viewers rushed to social media following the penultimate episode of BBC drama Happy Valley. The fifth episode of the series saw the aftermath of villain Tommy Lee Royce’s (James Norton) escape from prison and also, his attempt to groom son Ryan Cawood (Rhys Connah).

Powerful scenes at the end of the episode saw Tommy reach out to Ryan in a chat room on a video game. He then tried to convince him to flee the country with him, which was something that the teenager said he’d “think about”.

With only a single episode to go of Happy Valley, viewers are now convinced that they know what will happen to Tommy in the series final. For some of the questions that still need answering, read here.

“Ryan’s gonna kill Tommy for sure #happyvalley,” one viewer suggested and another agreed, writing: “I think it might come down to Ryan having to kill Tommy to try and save Catherine, but who knows with the twists and turns of this show!”

A third person commented: “After that, I really hope Ryan kills Tommy now, gets revenge for his mum and shows Catherine he’s changed” And a fourth wrote: “Ryan kills Tommy in a fit of rage after finding out what he truly did to his mum. Catherine then goes to prison as she covers for Ryan”

What do you think will happen? Let us know in the comments. Happy Valley concludes on Sunday, February 5 at 9pm on BBC One. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
