Since news of Sainsbury's huge Dyson sale was leaked online on deals forum HotUKDeals yesterday, eager shoppers all over the country have been heading to stores to try get their hands on one of the £50 cordless vacuum cleaners.
Whilst Sainsbury's has since confirmed that the deal is legitimate, it has also warned that the offer is not nationwide, and only in selected stores on discontinued stock.
So while many shoppers have been left disappointed, a few lucky customers have been able to pick up the deal in various Sainsbury's stores across the country.
Stock has been picked up in Cambridge, Irvine, Sainsbury’s Sury Basin Store in Kingston upon Thames, Shrewsbury, Bamber Bridge Preston, Darnley Store in Glasgow, Abbey Wood and Holborn, with a few shoppers sharing photos of their impressive bargains.
Sharing their photos on deals forum HotUKDeals , fellow customers have confirmed they have seen some people bag the bargain, although just as Sainsbury's are saying, they're few and far between.
One user named YDesigns_UK said "Just out our Sainsbury’s! THE DEAL IS TRUE!! There was about ten people waiting outside and only one got a Dyson! Wasn’t me but saw with my own eyes lady paid £50 for it as I was just behind her in a line for customer services desk!"
She added, "Staff acted they haven’t heard about it! Not sure where the lady in front picked it from, but there was nothing on shelves! So perhaps though a friend who works in the shop, as staff was telling me if they have any they would have been put out on shelves by night shift .... think we all know who got most of them haha".
Seven Dyson and GTech devices were rumoured to be knocked down today in what is perhaps the largest discount the Dyson vacuum has ever seen, including the Dyson V6 Trigger ( usually £149.99 ), Gtech AirRam (usually £199.99 ) and V6 Animal (usually £309.99 ), which have all been slashed to £50.
Some clever customers are saying they found theirs after asking Sainsbury's floor staff who had no idea about the sale to check the stock rooms.
Dan on Twitter said "Thanks to the staff at Sainsbury's Abbey Wood who, although none were on display and stock was still showing £220, searched around the stockroom to find me one of the last 2 Dysons which scanned through at £50".
For anyone still willing to chance it, Sainsbury's have offered to look into stock availability in specific stores on Twitter , but that as the £50 Dyson and Gtech vacuums are clearance items, all of the stores involved will have very limited stock.
Since the news was announced, Sainsbury's shoppers all across the country have been reporting whilst staff are saying on Twitter that the phone lines have been ringing constantly.
The offer also coincides with the store's huge toy sale, where there's also some big discounts on popular brands like Hot Wheels, Hatchimal and Playmobil.
