Happy Mondays? They would be if you were getting enough honey, star Bez reckons.
Bez gets a buzz from the sweet stuff and reckons it can put a sting in the tail, saying: “I tell you, it’s better for your virility than Viagra.”
He took up beekeeping when he bought his first hive 15 years ago.
And despite some early accidents, including leaving down the fly of his protective suit, he has since got seven more.
He said: “I won’t lie to you, it’s mostly selfish. I love honey, in my tea, on my cereal, in booze, and just on its own by the spoonful.”
The Celebrity Big Brother champ, 58, has swapped the band’s native Manchester for a smallholding on the Welsh border near Hereford where he lives with his dogs and wife Firouzeh Razavi, who he wed in September.
The maracas-shaker said: “The most exciting thing was learning about bees. They’d shake about and wiggle their bums just like I did – it made me warm to them straight away.
“Then I learnt more and more about their lifestyles and habitats and I was hooked. I knew that’s what I wanted to do with my life.”
Bez added in a BBC interview: “I’m quite the country gent these days. I’m friends with all my neighbours, and I know every pub in a 20-mile radius.”
