Hariyali Teej or Choti teej is observed annually on the third day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan, as per the Hindu calendar. Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 31st july 2022 this year. On this day,Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are worshipped in a special way because it is believed that this is the day that they were reunited.
One of the hardest fasts is the Hariyali Teej fast. Married ladies commemorate this day in appreciation of their spouses' long lives and great health. On the other side, single girls observe a fast in order to find their ideal husband.
They dress up for the occasion, particularly in hues of red and green and their mothers give them "sindhara," or a basket of presents containing henna, bangles, clothes, jewellery, makeup items, sweets.
