Abhishek Bachchan announced his entry into Bollywood with JP Dutta’s 2000 film Refugee that also marked Kareena Kapoor’s debut in the industry. Abhishek followed it up with the film Om Jai Jagadish (2002), LOC Kargil (2003), Yuva and Dhoom (2004), Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar and Antarmahal (2005), Guru (2006), Delhi-6 (2009), Happy New Year (2014) among several others. He also starred in R Balki’s National award winning film Paa where his father, Amitabh Bachchan played the role of his son, a victim of the rare genetic disorder progeria.
Born to actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya [Bhaduri] Bachchan in the year 1976, Abhishek always wanted to become an actor. He was studying business in United States, but then did not complete it as he wanted to pursue his dream in front of the camera. And Abhishek received support from his father.
Along with moving ahead in his professional career, Abhishek also decided to settle down with his girlfriend, model-turned-actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He proposed her after the premiere Guru in Toronto, and in 2007 they tied the knot. Both the actors have collaborated in a number of films such as Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Bunty Aur Babli, Guru, Umrao Jaan (2006) and Dhoom 2 (2006). Their first child, daughter Aaradhya, was born in 2011.
