Hannah and Jonny’s upgraded Dream Home is now worth $1.9 million

Couple Hannah and Jonny have 10-month-old twins Goldie and Theodore. Their 1950s weatherboard house in Coorparoo started out in pretty poor condition, but not for long. The brief for the other Dream Home contestants was to create a place with Palm Springs vibes.

Teams Rhys and Liam (whose home was completed at the same time), Lara and Peter, and Taeler and Elle worked on the home, and they’ve delivered a knockout finished result. A whole new floor was added to Hannah and Jonny’s 70-year-old Queenslander.

It’s now valued at $1.9 million according to View, which is an increase of $1 million. Here’s a look inside and some thoughts from Dream Home judges Lana Taylor, Rosie Morley and Simon Cohen…

“It’s absolutely glorious,” Rosie said of the new white facade with a peachy-pink front door. The gold palm tree handles were a fun choice by Rhys and Liam.

“What an entrance,” said Simon of the space completed by Taeler and Elle. They made it feel calming with plants under the stairs.

The kitchen was taken on by Lara and Peter, who battled it out against the other two teams to score this prime room. They didn’t disappoint, despite Taeler and Elle allocating themselves the lion’s share of the budget and leaving less for the others. The judges all agreed the room has “rizz” (AKA charisma) and were impressed by the use of arches.

In the walk-in pantry, Lara and Peter continued the Hollywood aesthetic. “So cool that it was completely concealed,” said Lana.

The dining room by Taeler and Elle blew the judges away. “They’ve done the best dining room to date,” said Simon.

Standout features were the pendant with delicate circles and the repetition of curves in the bar area and rug, which anchors the space.

Wrangling a large portion of the budget for their bathroom paid off for Taeler and Elle, who delivered a beautiful space.

The judges were impressed by the curved walls, recessed mirror cabinets and double skylights over the bath.

The judges got hotel vibes from the main bedroom created by Taeler and Elle. A venetian plaster wall behind the bed made a beautiful extra zone – it just wasn’t clear how to use it.

The main bedroom’s walk-in robe was another gorgeous space by Taeler and Elle. Rosie applauded the way they kept the small space simple.

The ensuite by Lara and Peter includes a double sink and playful checkers and arches. “It’s a bathroom really well done,” said Lana.

Hannah and Jonny’s twins got a colourful new nursery by Lara and Peter. “It makes me want to have a baby, it’s so cute!” said Rosie.

With a makeup station next to the entrance, they’ve thought of everything. “Multiple people can use this bathroom at any one time,” noted Simon.

“This is fresh,” said Rosie of the laundry by Rhys and Liam. It was appreciated how the room felt like it matched the rest of the house, and the checkerboard tiles were pointed out as a “really fun” detail.
