India crossed the 50-medal mark at the Hangzhou Asian Games on October 1 when Nandini Agasara won the bronze in the women’s heptathlon 800m.
As it rained medals on Day 8, India won golds in men’s trap shooting, men’s 3,000m steeple chase and men’s shot put events.
Indian athletes added 7 silvers and 5 bronzes. In the 100m hurdles, initially it was announced that Jyothi Yarraji clinched the bronze but it was later upgraded to silver as Wu Yanni was disqualified due to false start.

India’s shooting contingent, finished in style with an amazing haul of 22 medals that included seven golds.
In the last edition of the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, India finished with a record medal haul of 70 medals, which included 16 gold.
