Four months on from their first fight, Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr face each other for a second time in an undisputed lightweight bout tonight.
Haney proved far too good at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne back in June, all three judges scoring it comfortably in his favour, but Kambosos’ rematch clause means that the American returns to Australia having to do it all over again.
His WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts are on the line, and the 23-year-old knows another win will leave him free to pursue a number of massive fights in what is arguably the strongest division in the sport.
Kambosos cannot be discounted though, as he proved when taking the belts off Teofimo Lopez a year ago, and he goes into the fight with everything on the line after stating he will step away from boxing if he loses again. Win though, and he’ll be at the very top of the sport.
