A jump starter kit for a car battery has been recalled due to fears it presents a 'risk of burns' due to overheating.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued the recall alert on Monday for the High-Power Multi-Function Jump Starter.
It was for sale on eBay and as the product was sold online, it may have been purchased by Irish motorists.

The CCPC recall notice said: "A safety issue has been identified with High-Power Multi-Function Jump Starter on the eBay platform.
"The product presents a risk of burns. The lack of electrical strength caused by the product’s design and the soldering within the product can lead to overheating and burns to consumers."
The brand of the jump starter kit is High-Power and the model number is HR-1501000. The batch number and barcode are unknown.
In a statement, the CCPC issued advice on what to do if you have purchased the product, urging anyone that did so to immediately discard it. They added to contact eBay to enquire if a refund was due.
The CCPC said: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and discard the product.
"You may wish to contact the eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on eBay."
