Handwritten note at Manchester Airport leaves passengers furious

Ryanair passengers facing a two-hour wait for luggage have braded the situation a "joke" as the chaos continues.

Manchester Airport, like many others across the UK, has come under fire in recent months as the staffing crisis hits the aviation industry hard. Passengers have been forced to wait in "ridiculous" queues, flights have been cancelled at short notice and luggage has "gone missing".

But Ryanair passengers arriving at the airport during the early hours of the morning were not left unscathed as they were met with a makeshift sign, handwritten, warning them of long delays for their luggage. A paper sign was seen at the airport at 2am on June 8 at the baggage reclaim hall, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The handwritten sign reads: "Ryanair bags. Please be advised bag delivery time is taking approximately 2 hours. We apologise for the delay and are working hard to get the bag to you".

The frustrated passenger took to Twitter to share the picture and tagged Ryanair in, and asked the airline: "Is this a joke?". Ryanair has been approached for comment.

Earlier this week, a dad said his child had to urinate in a plastic bag in a "two hour long" security queue at Manchester Airport. Mark Meadows, who was getting ready to jet off on an easyJet flight to Berlin with his family, faced the strenuous wait in the queue due to a shortage in staff.

A mum also claimed Ryanair staff "weren't bothered" as she battled to keep her daughter's blood sugar levels up on a delayed flight.

Despite chaos reported across the UK, Liverpool's John Lennon airport seems to be running mostly smoothly. But those wishing to jet off for the summer have been urged to keep in mind some top travel tips to ensure their airport arrival runs as smooth as possible.

This includes arriving at the airport at the correct time, downloading your airline's app to keep an eye on flight status and knowing your rights.
